INTER-CLUB COUNCIL

Undergraduate Liaison Program

The Undergraduate Liaison position is a rotational program where Freshmen can explore the different roles within the ICC E-Board and help out accordingly. They will work closely with the rest of the team throughout the semester on projects that involve all 32 pre-professional organizations at Stern. There will also be a mentorship component and workshops led by upperclassmen about anything from resume building to choosing apartments! As a UL, you will get the opportunity to familiarize yourself with all professional organizations on campus, what they have to offer, and engage with various student leaders.

Those selected will act as the voices for Class of 2028 to help bring awareness to topics that can help better the club community at Stern. The Undergraduate Liaison program is also a pipeline for future leadership positions in ICC!

    Actsoc Mentorship is a program that looks to help students learn how to prepare for a professional career in a business/finance-related role. Each student will also be paired with a Mentor, an upperclassman that can help answer any questions and give advice for more specific needs. This program is geared towards underclassmen, but all are welcome to apply. Meetings will take place on Fridays afternoons.

    The Analyst Program is an intensive, 10-week-long experience designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the financial services industry. Through a series of weekly workshops, professional development opportunities, and one-on-one mentorship, participants will gain a deep understanding of finance fundamentals and be well-prepared for any career path they choose to pursue.

    Upon completing this comprehensive training, analysts will have the unique opportunity to pitch equity investment ideas directly to the BlackGen Capital investment fund. In addition, participants will benefit from exclusive access to firm events, personalized mentorship, and unique career opportunities with our corporate sponsors.

  • Mentorship Program

    The NYU Blockchain and Fintech Mentorship Program is an intensive 10-week experience designed to immerse students in the world of emerging financial technology. Mentees will understand the fundamentals of Blockchain, Fintech, and De-Fi while also getting hands on experience in these fields. Although the focus is on emerging financial technology, the key critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills that we develop are applicable to any and all fields.

    Participants are also paired up with experienced e-board members who offer personalized guidance about their field of interest. Our mentees will receive tailored advice on enhancing their professional profiles, through resume and LinkedIn optimization, as well as recruiting events, to best prepare them for their professional pursuits. In addition to the curriculum, B&F Mentorship fosters a tight-knit community, creating friendships and lifelong bonds on all levels of the club.

    Investments Team

    The Investment Team is focused on 2 main components: Fund Management and Governance. Team members will help manage a portfolio of $50,000 of Ethereum and Solana, by pitching various tokens following in our fund strategy. For Governance, they will participate in researching and voting on proposals for various protocols in collaboration with Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). Team members will also work closely with our partner Messari to learn how to engage in quality token research.

    We’re tackling a novel blockchain problem with one of the premier tech companies in the world: Microsoft. This project will involve an in-depth understanding of distributed systems, full-stack development, and sustainable deployment of multiple interacting components.     This semester, NYU Blockchain and FinTech is introducing a new division: the Coinbase Product Team! This team will focus on developing innovative solutions to enhance content curation for Coinbase via Warpcast, one of the leading decentralized social networks! Working directly with Coinbase product managers, software engineers, and product designers, we will create an impactful solution for our chosen issue on Warpcast.     The Insight Team is a 10-week data analytics and data science mentorship program for students looking to enter the data, tech, consulting, or other business related spaces. Insight Team also hones in on team collaboration and connects students with BAC's vast network of professional mentors to foster innovation and sharpen presentation skills.     Join the ML team to explore more about deep learning and cutting edge research. The ten-week program will begin with a refresher of neural network fundamentals. We will explore architectures, activation functions, optimizers, and regularization methods. Next, we will cover a breadth of applications of modern deep learning like CNNs for image processing, RNNs and LSTMs for sequential data, and Transformers for attention-based tasks. Areas such as reinforcement learning, GANs, autoencoders will deepen understanding of generative and decision-making models. We will conclude with best practices in debugging, optimization, and emerging trends as well as advanced topics like GNNs or few-shot learning. Each week balances theoretical insights with hands-on projects to foster comprehensive learning and engagement. Using knowledge gleaned from these workshops, you will embark on an independent project and complete the program prepared to integrate ML/AI into your future careers.

    The CMC Workshop Team is a semester-long commitment designed to provide students with a comprehensive foundation in markets, macroeconomics, and various financial topics. Workshop members work in groups to complete two projects during the semester: A macro pitch on a particular market, asset class, or trade idea and an investment banking-style stock pitch on an individual company.

    The ASTRA Consulting program aims to empower its participants to think critically about economic development in the context of strategy consulting and program management.

    The Entrepreneurs-in-Residence (EIR) program is a cohort of startup founders with dedicated support from EEG. Unlike traditional accelerators, our program offers a flexible, need-based structure, focusing on the specific challenges and opportunities of each startup.     The Executive Committee Program is a semester-long training program that provides students with a holistic introduction to the hard and soft skills necessary to recruit for internships and full-time jobs within the Financial Services industry, primarily investment banking, with a tangential focus on private equity and other investing-oriented roles. The program will include week-by-week meetings covering fundamental technical skills such as accounting, valuation, and financial modeling, while also incorporating specific recruiting-oriented curriculum such as mock interviews and coffee chats as well as overviews/advice on the finance recruiting process. In addition to the focus on professional development, the Executive Committee Program places a large emphasis on community, and members will receive mentorship from upperclassmen, partake in fun social events such as bowling and potlucks, and form strong friendships within their class.

    The Finance Society Discovery Program is an introductory program catered towards freshmen looking to explore various career paths within the financial services industry, such as Investment Banking, Private Equity, Hedge Funds, and Venture Capital. The program is organized as a series of weekly workshops providing overviews of various careers in finance, industry teach-ins (i.e., Technology/Healthcare), analytical framework introductions (i.e., business & macro analysis), and guidance on first-time recruiting (resume workshops, cold emailing, networking best practices). The program will then culminate in several research-oriented capstone projects such as a stock pitch. Students will also receive one-on-one mentorship from club upperclassmen and partake in a fun slate of social events with the rest of the FS community.

    The Agora Editorial Board is a collaborative and creative team that allows students to create passion projects and articles for the NYU community to read.     The Private Equity Group offers a semester long in depth introduction to investment banking and private equity fundamentals. Designed to thoroughly prepare selected freshmen for our more advanced workshop, the FMP program is a great introduction to finance. The program will be covering PE and IB technical knowledge, insights on navigating the recruitment process, and interview preparation.

    Selected freshman will have access to specially assigned mentors in the club, being able to receive professional support and guidance throughout life at Stern. Freshman are also able to shadow mentors in their executive functions within the club, preparing them for potential executive board involvement in future semesters.

    The Private Equity Group offers a year-long advanced workshop. Designed to thoroughly train select students beyond what is covered in general member meetings, the program helps students prepare for and navigate the recruiting process.

    Workshop members meet weekly to engage in lectures and discussions centered on private equity and private capital strategies including venture capital, growth equity, private credit, distressed debt, special situations, fund of funds, co-investments, and secondaries. Workshop also includes an Investment Banking workshop where we prepare members for banking interviews.

    Joining PEG ensures you not only acquire valuable private equity and investing knowledge but also fosters an environment of lifelong friendship. Through engaging discussions, networking events, and collaborative projects, members form lasting bonds with others who share a passion for the industry.

    We like to give mentees and mentors a chance to get to know each other through coffee chats prior to being paired up so they have the opportunity to meet people and then rank their preferences for their mentors. They can sign up for up to 5 chats, and they will receive 3 to 5 matches for coffee chats. Once they have been paired with a mentor, we have a mentor reveal event and then we allow the mentor-mentee pairs to connect outside of USWIB for the rest of the semester.
