INTER-CLUB COUNCIL

Undergraduate Liaison Program

Grade Levels Accepted: Freshman

Time Commitment: 5 hours per week

The Undergraduate Liaison position is a rotational program where Freshmen can explore the different roles within the ICC E-Board and help out accordingly. They will work closely with the rest of the team throughout the semester on projects that involve all 32 pre-professional organizations at Stern. There will also be a mentorship component and workshops led by upperclassmen about anything from resume building to choosing apartments! As a UL, you will get the opportunity to familiarize yourself with all professional organizations on campus, what they have to offer, and engage with various student leaders.

Those selected will act as the voices for Class of 2027 to help bring awareness to topics that can help better the club community at Stern. The Undergraduate Liaison program is also a pipeline for future leadership positions in ICC!

    BlackGen Capital analysts are provided with a standardized 10-week educational series, where students learn the fundamentals of finance. After receiving this thorough training, students have a unique opportunity to propose equity investment ideas to the BlackGen Capital investment fund. Along with our education, our students have direct access to corporate sponsors and exclusive career opportunities.

    Throughout the fall semester, our Mentorship Team will lead you through a comprehensive 10-week curriculum to immerse you within the business and technology industries. You will learn from workshops tailored to hone your soft and technical capabilities, as we help you develop a well-rounded skill set for the professional world. Our workshops will teach you how to craft a resume, engage in active career networking, learn high-level Python coding, Excel practice, and design a professional slide deck with the tools tech startups use everyday. You will also have the chance to join the Business Analytics Club's Executive Board meetings, where you will become familiar with the leadership and logistical aspects of Stern professional clubs. Throughout the program, we will guide students in completing a flagship personal project utilizing open source data and Python coding-- a project that will also enhance your portfolio and resume for future job opportunities. BAC’s premier first-year program serves as a great way to become more involved with BAC and enhance your professional and technical skills!

    The Insight Team is a 10-week data analytics and data science program that introduces students to various technical skills in SQL and Python through weekly workshops and deliverables. Alongside that, students present a semester-long project utilizing what they’ve learned while working with an alumni mentor and expanding their preparation for technical interviews.

    The Quantitative Finance Team aims to introduce students to the world of quantitative finance, and to help pursue careers in Quantitative Trading or Research (QT/QR). Our primary emphasis is recruiting preparation, which will involve math workshops and trading games. You will be able to learn from mentors who have landed trading offers across the industry, and are able to guide you to do the same.

    Machine Learning Team

    Application Timeline: 2/9-2/16

    Join the ML team to explore more about deep learning and cutting edge research. The ten-week program will begin with a refresher of ML fundamentals, from gradient descent, to forest/kernel methods, to the theory of neural networks and its implementation in PyTorch. Next, the program will cover a breadth of applications of modern deep learning, from progressively adapting computer vision models to new imaging data, to training transformers on newly discovered languages. The second half of the program will take a deep dive into an enrichment topic depending on member interest. Past topics have included meta-learning, LSTMs for momentum-trading, and gentrification detection using Siamese networks. Using knowledge gleaned from these workshops, you will embark on an independent project and complete the program prepared to integrate ML/AI into your future careers.

    The Executive Committee is a semester-long training program focused on preparing students to build a career in the financial services industry. Executive Committee members will participate in weekly workshops focused on developing the technical and interpersonal skills to recruit successfully into investment banking, private equity, as well as other adjacent fields. Throughout the program, members will be taught everything from accounting to advanced financial modeling to proper networking etiquette, while also being provided access to valuable upperclassmen mentorship and an unparalleled alumni network. In addition to the rigorous training curriculum, our program fosters a great community of people coming from unique backgrounds, offering various social activities to bond and form lifelong connections.

    Join our comprehensive semester-long training program designed to provide students with a holistic understanding of the essentials of value investing. Throughout the program, trainees will engage in weekly workshops tailored to cultivate a skill set for evaluating public companies from an investment perspective. These workshops cover a wide array of topics, ranging from fundamental accounting principles to competitive analysis and financial modeling.

    As part of the program, trainees will undertake the exciting challenge of crafting a complete stock pitch, working on weekly deliverables that culminate in a final presentation to the upperclassmen and portfolio managers of the club. Upon successful completion of the program, trainees will become analysts within the portfolio team and will have the ability to bring in ideas to be considered for inclusion in the club’s real-money fund.

    The Agora Editorial Board is a highly collaborative and creative team that allows students to create passion projects and articles for the NYU community to read. Editorial board writers will regularly contribute to publishing weekly articles that discuss marketing trends, delve into case studies, and provide insights into the industry. Writers will also have the opportunity to create semester-long projects in a multimedia form of their choosing. In addition to creating content, editorial board writers are required to attend all Content team-related meetings, which will be held regularly.

More broadly, in becoming an active member of NYU's Net Impact chapter, you will be plugged into the national network of Net Impact members (over 100,000 strong), including Stern MBA students, alumni, and upperclassmen.

    NICE (Net Impact Consulting Experience) is a remarkable opportunity tailored for students interested in a career in consulting and incorporating the ideas of sustainability in the business world. During this 10-week program, students are invited to be a part of a dynamic community by working with peers in small, close-knit teams, learning the fundamentals of slide design, casing, and skills that will help them become a successful social entrepreneur. They will also have the chance to interact with business founders that will challenge them to create sustainable strategies to solve real world business problems.

    We try to develop the most capable and dedicated freshmen to become future leaders of our club by assigning them mentors from our board with the slow transfer of responsibilities from board members to mentee occurring in previous years. Typically, our more support-based E-Board functions such as secretary, treasurer, and marketing director are filled by sophomore graduates of our FMP. We also will make sure that the FMP members are well versed in finance concepts necessary to be a leader in our club.

    The SAS Mentorship Program is designed to empower students on their academic and professional journeys. The program will provide underclassmen the opportunity to be paired with a mentor based on personal preferences and career interests. Our program connects experienced mentors with mentees to create a collaborative, friendly environment where students will gain industry knowledge, academic support, and career guidance. Participants are encouraged to attend weekly club meetings and have structured weekly check-ins with their mentors. We have specialized workshops led by club leaders and industry professionals, focusing on skill development, career exploration, and personal growth. Topics include resume building, interview preparation, networking strategies, and more. Mentees will have exclusive access to networking opportunities to build a valuable professional network and form meaningful connections with other club members. We will also have mentorship social events to strengthen the mentorship bond and enhance the overall experience for participants through group activities and fun NYC trips.     SREG offers our Mentorship Program for students with limited prior experience in real estate. In the Mentorship Program, students will learn the fundamentals of the real estate industry, build strong connections with peers and SREG alumni, and develop an array of skills and knowledge that can be employed across the business world.

    The program’s curriculum will include discussions on real estate asset classes, investment risk profiles, valuation techniques, fund structures, and the effects of leverage on investments. Students will build key Microsoft Excel skills by working through components of a real estate financial model and will also develop an aptitude for public speaking by giving mock pitches to the group.

    After completing the program, students will possess the competitive edge to pursue internships not only in the real estate sector, but across the finance industry.

    SREG Strategy Board

    The Strategy Board program is an intensive 10-week long workshop designed to prepare students for interviews, internships, and full-time roles in real estate private equity and investment banking.

    Concepts covered will include but are not limited to: financial accounting, corporate valuation, mergers & acquisitions, real estate acquisitions, and private credit. An emphasis will be placed on financial modeling and individuals will be responsible for delivering property-level investment pitches at the end of the semester.

  • Venture Team

    Venture Team is the flagship program for SVS. Throughout the 9-week program, freshmen and sophomores will dive deeply into the world of Venture Capital and tech, gaining important skills in a variety of business subjects, including graphic design, financial valuation, product management, and investment analysis.
