NYU Actuarial Society's Technical Team is a program that equips students interested in harnessing data analysis with technical skills in Excel and Python. The program covers essential Excel functions, pivot tables and VBA, data manipulation with Pandas, machine learning with Scikit-learn, and visualization with Seaborn. Throughout the program, students will work on a case study/data analysis project.

The NYU Actuarial Society Mentorship Program aims to provide underclassmen interested in actuarial science, insurance, and consulting with the knowledge and skills needed to prepare for and pursue careers in these fields. Participants are paired with a mentor and attend weekly meetings covering industry knowledge, Excel skills, resume preparation, networking strategies, and other topics relevant to the internship recruiting process.

Asian Futures in Finance

ALI NYU supports ambitious AAPI students in achieving career success and making a positive impact in their industries and communities. The AFF Mentorship Program pairs students with experienced professionals based on their career interests and goals. Mentors come from leading firms such as Blackstone, KKR, Evercore, and Goldman Sachs, offering students personalized guidance, career advice, and industry insights. All sophomores are welcome to apply to this program!

Core Mentorship Program

ALI NYU supports ambitious AAPI students in achieving career success and making a positive impact in their industries and communities. Core Mentorship is our selective first-year apprenticeship program, embedding a small group of students directly into how ALI operates. Each Core Member is paired with an upperclassman mentor and matched to a functional area of our e-board — events, marketing, finance, external relations, or membership — based on their own preference. Members attend e-board meetings, receive small-group access to ALI speakers, and pitch event ideas to e-board. In pairs, Core Members then plan and execute a real ALI event from concept through budget, logistics, promotion, and day-of execution. The program is open to all students and is not limited to students who identify as AAPI.

B&F has pioneered the intersection of finance and tech at NYU since 2023. Our mentorship program is an intensive designed for students seeking a structured introduction to crypto and fintech concepts and companies. Over 10 weeks, mentees attend weekly workshops, work on projects, pair with upperclassmen, hear from and connect with industry leaders, before culminating in a capstone project collaborating with one of our core teams.

Machine Learning Team

The ten-week program will begin with a refresher of neural network fundamentals. We will explore architectures, activation functions, optimizers, and regularization methods. Next, we will cover a range of applications of modern deep learning, such as CNNs for image processing, RNNs and LSTMs for sequential data, and Transformers for attention-based tasks. Areas such as reinforcement learning, GANs, and autoencoders will deepen understanding of generative and decision-making models. We will conclude with best practices in debugging, optimization, and emerging trends, as well as advanced topics such as GNNs and few-shot learning. Each week balances theoretical insights with hands-on projects to foster comprehensive learning and engagement. Using knowledge gleaned from these workshops, you will embark on an independent project and complete the program prepared to integrate ML/AI into your future careers. The EDG Macro Research Program provides students a structured, year-long path from macroeconomic theory to original, data-driven research on development and policy. The Leadership Development Program (LDP) is an environment where students are invited and encouraged to reflect on themselves, their values, and their goals, sometimes in uncomfortable ways: asking complex questions, questioning our actions and decisions, and honestly confronting our mistakes and flaws. Ultimately, our hope is to help students uncover their core values and personal mission statements, and to subsequently think intentionally about how to align their choices and behaviors with those principles. Alongside this reflective work, the program also includes finance-focused professional development workshops covering interview prep and career-readiness skills. Our goal for this program is to extend far beyond LDP and SOF, shaping how students approach their lives both professionally and personally.

Pairing mentees with a dedicated mentor to act as a role model throughout their semester. Connecting mentees and mentors during a kickoff and subsequent meetings to build a supportive community. Mentors support their mentees by helping with their resume, the recruiting process, interview skills, coursework, and overall adjustment to college life. Mentees will be required to chat with members of SAS before applying, attend kickoff and subsequent meetings, and mentees are given the responsibility to reach out and schedule chats with their mentor. The mentorship kickoff meeting is meant to help mentees and mentors establish a connection then it is recommended mentors and mentees meet around three times during the semester.

The Accounting Strategy Group (ASG) helps underclassmen build a strong foundation in practical accounting and professional development. Over a structured 6-week curriculum, the program builds professional behavioral skills and transitions foundational accounting into real-world practice through applied audit and tax cases, Excel modeling, and direct engagement and feedback from Big 4 alumni. By building both technical skills and career strategy, ASG prepares students to excel in the professional accounting field and beyond.

Stern Capital Management (SCM) is NYU Stern’s student-run organization focused on alternative investments. Our Analyst Program gives students hands-on experience researching markets and developing investment ideas through simulated investment pods, with a primary focus on Fixed Income & Credit alongside a dedicated Technology pod. Finance & Investment in Sports (FINS) introduces members to capital markets, institutional investment, and financial strategy in sports. Over 9 weeks, members build the analytical and valuation skills that carry directly into finance recruiting, learning through live deals instead of theory. The program centers on two capstone pitches, a private or alternative investment raise and a public equity recommendation, similar to the work done at investment banks, private equity funds, and equity research desks. It's built for students who want direct exposure to how money actually moves in sports.

Mentorship Program

The S³ Mentorship Program is a cohort-based initiative pairing members with an E-Board member over 9 weeks. It's built around your specific goals, whether that's breaking into sports finance, landing a front office internship, or just figuring out which direction to go, but it's not unstructured. The cohort works through mentor matching, a rundown of career paths across the industry, a resume and LinkedIn workshop, networking and cold outreach practice, and a group case workshop on a real sports business problem. Later weeks cover interview prep and career roundtables with mentors across different sectors. Members close the program with a personal career roadmap and networking portfolio built from what they worked on all semester.

Women in Sports Empowerment (WISE)

The Women in Sport Empowerment (WISE) Program is a women-led initiative supporting women across every S³ track and anyone interested. Open to anyone of any background who signs up and commits to attending all sessions, members meet bi-weekly over 9 weeks, focused on career navigation, leadership, and workplace dynamics. Programming is led by women and features conversations with women working across sports, finance, media, and operations. The goal is to build confidence, community, and long-term professional support for women entering the sports business world.

Venture Team (V-TEAM) is a 9-week program aiming to equip students with a wide-ranging skill set, particularly emphasizing analysis of startups through the lens of venture capital. By empowering students with both a strong skill set and valuable resources, we position them for success in their future careers.

Mentorship Program

The SEAD Mentorship Program pairs students with upperclassmen mentors who serve as a trusted and approachable resource throughout their college experience. Mentors support mentees with academics, career development, social life, and anything else they may need along the way. Mentor groups meet bi-weekly through a mix of social outings, workshops, and informal sessions. Our goal is to provide a supportive relationship that mentees can turn to for guidance, advice, and connection throughout their time at NYU.
